PLC Ice Fishing

January 2015 opened our ice fishing season with great ice conditions and good weather too! The clients caught a lot of walleye and hardly any perch which is very unusual. This beautiful walleye was caught and the whole camp celebrated! Although there were lots of walleye, not too many over the 18.1 inch size limit. It was a fun season!

New in 2015

The DRONES are coming!

This summer Norm Franks and his very talented son, Aidan used a high tech drone to video tape PLC. They took various shots of the fun things we do here at the camp and compiled them into a 2 ½ minute video. It looks amazing! You can view it and show it to your friends and family right from our website. Have a look and thanks to Norm and Aidan for such a great job!!

We had a lot of renovations and updates throughout the camp this year! Cottage #8 was renovated with a new kitchen, new windows and pine ceiling, wainscoting and we added almost all new furniture too! Two new paddle boards were added to the beach toy inventory, new mattresses and a larger BBQ was purchased for the beach house, repairs were made to the retaining wall by the gazebo, new living room chairs and lazy boy chairs were added in cottages 1, 2, 3 and 4, 3 new motors were purchased in the fall for the 40 HP boats and one for the 25 HP boat, PLC information booklet was updated with a brief history of the camp owners included.

What to expect in 2016

We have more updating and renovation plans planned for 2016! We plan to renovate cottage #7 including new kitchen cupboards, windows and some new furniture, we will be renovating the fish cleaning hut and we will be replacing more mattresses.

Family Fishing and Fun - July and August

Those fishermen who caught keepers were delighted with the size of them! Let’s hope that means that we will see even more keepers next year! Remember, if it was easy, it would be called catching.

Other PLC News

The beach was very busy all season long. The trampoline was very active and the new paddle boards were tried by everyone! Some with more success than others! This year our clients were able to get an up close experience with a very large bear. It was in a tree near the neighbour's house for over 24 hours, so many pictures were captured.

A sad Farewell to Henning's Mom

Henning’s Mom passed away this year and although we miss her greatly, she is no longer in pain. Special thanks to those clients who were in camp as we had to leave to attend to her affairs and her funeral. Rest in Peace Anna.
