Hard to believe that Henning and I just ended our 8th season as owners of Promised Land Camp. This year the weather and water levels have been amazing. The commercial fishery did not operate in the winter this year, so the number of walleye being caught increased significantly. Although the regulations enforced last year are still being upheld this year .......... meant that there were not too many keepers. That being said our clients had a lot of fun a...

2014 Newsletter

2014 was a cool and wet year everywhere in Ontario, so we at PLC were not much different. Our clients are so amazing, you all made the best of the crazy weather. When it was cold and raining, the camp grounds were empty and all people were inside the cottages. As soon as it was dry and there was a hint of sun, everyone came outside, until it rained again ......... and so the cycle went. That being said, we did have some awesome wild life visit regularly...

We would like to thank all of our amazing clients for the cards, gifts and well wishes as Henning recuperated from his kidney surgery. We visited Sunnybrook Hospital on September 9, 2013 for Henning’s follow up appointment. They re-did all the lab work, x-rays and ultra sounds and found Henning to be completely clear of cancer!!!! We are very excited about the results and so grateful to all the medical professionals as well as a special thanks to ...

A great big thank you to all of those who managed the camp whil...

2010 Newsletter

A great big huge thank you to all of you who made this season fun and successful! You braved the high heat and low water and we had a fabulous spring, summer and fall. As for the Ice fishing in early 2010, the fishing was slow, but everyone had a great time. The ice was really good and the weather cooperated too! So, just as a re-cap, over the winter and early spring we completed the following projects: we added new docks by cottage #8 (guest docks), 2 ...

The 2009 season has been both exciting and challenging for Henning and me. We purchased Promised Land Camp in April of this year and hit the ground running. Frank and Claire were with us every step of the way as we prepared the camp for the first guests..... and ourselves for the first season of our new adventure. Before you read the remainder of the newsletter, both Henning and I would like to say thank you very much for the warm welcome and great stor...
